Maintenance Tips

- Cleaning the Canister and Enabling a Smooth Roll

Ever feel like the cover is retractable a bit slower than before after an extensive time of use? It is possible and quite normal, actually. A simple maintenance from time to time goes a long way. First, you would want to remove the panel covering the top of the canister the cover rolls into, do this by unscrewing the 4 screws that lock the panel to the canister. Remove the panel afterwards. When you have done this, AFTER rolling the cover all the way open to the tailgate, canister's inside would be completely exposed and visible, including the white plastic spiral track.

What to do from here? Simple. Check for anything blocking the spiral track and remove the debris. The spiral must be free of debris should there be any after some time of use in order for cover to roll freely. Imagine you have a car blocking a one-way tunnel, nothing else would get by it, would it? Same idea.
